The Evil Overlord

The Evil Overlord campaign ran from 2016 to 2020 across 82 sessions of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, 1st Edition, set in the World of Greyhawk. The party, self-styled “The Band of Misfits,” began as recruits answering the call of General Perniti – the Misunderstood and Benevolent Overlord of Dunwitch – to investigate a plague, clear haunted manor houses, and deal with the assorted threats lurking in the surrounding countryside.

What started as simple errands quickly escalated into dungeon delves, encounters with undead hordes, ogres, assassins, and more than a few cursed items. The campaign drew from classic TSR modules including The Secret of Bone Hill, The Assassin’s Knot, and others, all filtered through the group’s distinctive blend of tactical play and dark humor.
